The New Orleans Saints enter 2025 with more questions than answers. The team’s quarterback situation remains fluid, and their veteran-heavy roster is at a turning point. While the Saints may not be a hotbed of dynasty excitement, there are still a few valuable pieces — especially at wide receiver — worth targeting in both win-now and rebuild scenarios.
My complete guide for this series can be found here, and click here for all teams in the series.
Chris Olave: The Locked-In WR1
Chris Olave continues to produce at a high level despite mediocre quarterback play. His route-running, separation, and deep-threat ability make him one of the most quarterback-proof receivers in the league.
2024–2025 Fantasy Production: Olave posted 32 receptions for 400 yards and 1 touchdown, operating as the clear alpha in the passing game when on the field. 2024 was a bit of a lost season for Olave, though, as he missed half the season due to injury.
Dynasty Value: Despite the injury-riddled campaign, at just 25 years old, Olave is still a long-term WR2/3 with a stable floor and top-20 upside in better offensive conditions. He’s a strong target for both contending and rebuilding dynasty rosters.
Rashid Shaheed: The Big-Play Specialist
Shaheed may never be a high-volume receiver, but his explosiveness and role as a field stretcher give him real fantasy value — especially in best-ball and deep leagues.
2024–2025 Fantasy Production: In just 6 games, Shaheed caught 20 passes for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns, including long scoring plays. He also contributed to special teams and gadget plays.
Dynasty Value: At 26, Shaheed is a FLEX option in deeper leagues with weekly boom potential. His value rises in leagues that reward return yardage or big-play bonuses. Not a core dynasty piece, but a strong bench asset in the right formats.
Alvin Kamara: One More Year?
Alvin Kamara showed signs of slowing down in 2024, but remained productive in PPR formats due to his receiving role. However, the end of his RB1 run is clearly on the horizon.
2024–2025 Fantasy Production: Kamara totaled 950 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, with 68 receptions, leading all Saints RBs. His efficiency dipped, but he remained the go-to option in the passing game.
Dynasty Value: Now 30, Kamara is a short-term hold for contenders only. He’s a likely sell for rebuilding teams and could lose touches to younger backs like Kendre Miller (or the newly drafted Devin Neal) in 2025. If you can get anything close to RB2 value in return, it may be time to move on.
The Saints are treading water, but dynasty managers can still find value — especially in Chris Olave, who remains one of the most dependable young receivers in the league despite his injuries from 2024. Shaheed is a solid deep-league play, while Kamara’s dynasty clock is ticking.
Honorable Mentions:
- Devin Neal: A strong stash. The newly drafted rookie could take over the backfield by 2026.
- Juwan Johnson: Touchdown-dependent TE2, but athletic enough to stay on watch lists in deeper formats.
- Spencer Rattler/Tyler Shough: Rookie & 2nd year QBs with big arms and battling it out between each other for the starting role. Whoever wins could become the team's starter for the next decade....or be replaced by this time next year.
