For faster setup, do two things:
- Turn off Auto-Team Stack and Exclude Opposing Defense while making your initial player selections. Turn them back on when you are ready to build your final lineup.
- Don't wait for each Lock or Exclude click to finish processing. The optimizer's click queue lets you continue making selections while earlier clicks are still being calculated.
The extra processing time is not simply a delay — these advanced features are asking the optimizer to do substantially more work.
Auto-Team Stack requires much more processing than a normal lineup calculation. It evaluates the possible team stacks for your slate across each projection source. On a 32-team slate with four projection sources, for example, the optimizer runs 128 separate lineup optimization requests.
The optimizer also checks your Lock and Exclude selections to prevent you from creating a player pool from which no valid lineup can be built. Each new selection can cause those combinations to be recalculated.
Fortunately, you don't need to wait for one calculation to finish before making your next selection. The click queue stores your Lock and Exclude decisions and processes them in order while you continue working. If one of those selections makes it impossible to build a valid lineup, the optimizer automatically backs it out.
So the fastest approach is simple: make your basic player-pool decisions with the advanced features turned off, and when they are turned on, keep making your Lock and Exclude selections without waiting for each calculation to finish.
